Our company was founded in 1989 under the name PRISMA Kreditversicherungs-AG. As pioneers in credit insurance, we have made it our mission to strengthen Austrian companies at home and abroad.
In 2004, we decided to create a second pillar with OeKB Versicherung AG.
Despite a variety of challenges, PRISMA succeeds in becoming the market leader in Austria in 2009. Determination and a spirit of innovation brought us to the top.
In 2013, we ventured into Croatia and Slovenia, consolidating our influence in south-eastern Europe and expanding our presence.
The merger of OeKB Versicherung AG and PRISMA Kreditversicherungs-AG in 2014 resulted in today's ACREDIA Versicherung AG. This has enabled us to consolidate our leading position in the market to this day.
In order to pool our energies, we decided in 2019 to only present ourselves to the outside world under the "ACREDIA" brand. Since then, our motto has been "Encouraging action".
By establishing our ACREDIA.digital Shield in 2022, we have strengthened our innovative power and paved the way for a digital future. In the same year, we launched our direct business in Croatia, thereby consolidating our pioneering role in South-East Europe.
Our new company focuses on debt collection services and strengthens our position in an economically dynamic region with significant potential. This marks another milestone on our journey to support businesses in SEE even more comprehensively and to enhance their financial stability.
Twelve years after entering the market, the opening of our own locations marked the next consistent step. This strengthened our presence in Southeast Europe, brought us even closer to our customers, and reinforced our role as a regional partner and market leader in the Adriatic region.

Gudrun Meierschitz has been a member of the ACREDIA Group’s Executive Board since July 2017 and is responsible for Risk Underwriting, Claims & Collections, Finance, Information & Grading, and Risk Management.
A business administration graduate, she has many years of experience in credit insurance and risk management. Since joining the ACREDIA Group, she has held various positions and assumed leadership of the Risk Underwriting division in April 2013. In this role, she was responsible for domestic and international credit decisions and consistently further developed underwriting, risk management, and credit decision-making processes.
As a member of the Executive Board, Gudrun Meierschitz is responsible for the strategic management of the ACREDIA Group’s risk, finance, and claims management functions. Her area of responsibility includes the further development of key governance and risk management structures, as well as ensuring sustainable and forward-looking corporate management in an increasingly volatile economic environment.
A particular focus of her work on the Executive Board is on a strategically oriented credit limit policy and the reliable, customer-focused handling of insurance claims. In this way, she lays the foundation for predictability, stability, and reliability—key factors for sustainable customer relationships and long-term corporate success.
With her many years of experience and deep understanding of national and international economic risks, Gudrun Meierschitz plays a key role in shaping the further development of the ACREDIA Group and strengthens its position as a reliable partner for companies in Austria and Southeast Europe.
Michael Kolb has been a member of the Executive Board of the ACREDIA Group since October 2021 and is responsible for Sales, Marketing, Commercial Underwriting, Customer & Shared Services, IT, and People & Culture.
He has more than 25 years of international leadership experience in the banking, financial services, and credit insurance industries. Throughout his career, he has built and strategically realigned companies and business units, and led complex transformation and integration programs in regulated markets. His particular strength lies in combining strategic foresight with consistent execution and sustainable organizational change.
Before joining the ACREDIA Group, Michael Kolb held senior positions at Allianz Trade, UniCredit Bank AG, and Commerzbank AG. There, among other things, he played a key role in developing new business areas, strategically realigning the corporate banking business, and overseeing the organizational integration of Dresdner Bank into Commerzbank.
Michael Kolb is also a commercial judge at the Hamburg Regional Court and has served on several supervisory boards in the financial sector.
As part of Allianz Trade, we are the specialists for South-East Europe. We check and assess the creditworthiness of companies in this area and offer our insurance services either directly or via fronting partners.
